In this video Driveway Dude Paul shows you how to easily replace a quartz wristwatch battery yourself.
This is quite an easy task and can save you a lot of money. The average price for a 1.55V silver oxide replacement battery is €2 / $2 / £1.50 whilst a jeweller will charge you for replacement and labour costs which can vary due to the make and model of your timepiece.
Once you know the replacement battery code you can order is cheaply online.
There are 2 types, the 'W' (low drain) and the 'SW' (high drain) for the same code of battery.
The 'W' is designed for basic wristwatches with no special functions and the 'SW' for multi-function models.
You can use 'SW' in both types of wristwatches but it is not recommended you use 'W' in multi-function models.
Many wristwatches have different ways to open the casing so be sure to have the correct tools before you attempt it.
